Police reported no injuries in a shots-fired incident near a park in Newark's Central Ward on Saturday evening.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activation alerted police of multiple gunshots that rang out on the 18th Avenue side of Nat Turner Park around 6:20 p.m.
Police say units arrived at the scene and were immediately told that about 20 males ran from the area after one of them produced the weapon and began 'popping off' witnesses said.
Officers canvassed the area and found shell casings but no suspects, according to police.
The group of possible juveniles fled into the park and remain at-large.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
