GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP- Keeping with their tradition since 2003, officers from the Galloway Township Police Department donated 25 turkeys to the Beacon Church this Thanksgiving for those in need.
“We are very privileged to have this job and it’s an honor to give back to the community especially during such a tumultuous year for everyone! We are grateful to be in the position to help!” Galloway Police Chief Donna Higbee said.
The GTPD contributes to the Beacon Church each year for their Thanksgiving Family Dinner Drive, Chief Donna Higbee said.
Retired Galloway Ofc. Ray Casanova started the tradition, Chief Higbee said.
“Turkeys are the most expensive part of the dinner and Beacon Church has many contributions coming from the schools and the community,” Chief Higbee said.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner applauded Galloway Township Police Department’s RANDOM ACTS OF COPNESS in giving back to those in need in the community.
“We are living in difficult times and the leadership shown by the Galloway Township Police Department to help feed local families goes far and above the call of duty,” Prosecutor Tyner said.
