Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, and Jefferson Township Chief of Police Paul Castimore announced the implementation of a joint Driving While Intoxicated checkpoint in Jefferson Township, on the weekend of November 21 and November 22.
Officials say law enforcement personnel from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Jefferson Township Police Department will be conducting the checkpoint.
The Prosecutor’s Office has set up sobriety checks in the past two years in Chester, Mount Olive, Parsippany, Washington Township, and previously in Morris Plains.
DWI checkpoints are funded by grants received by the Prosecutor’s Office from the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety to establish checkpoints in cooperation with municipal police departments throughout Morris County.
Further DWI checkpoint dates and locations will be announced in the future.
