Police are continuing to investigate a stabbing incident that sent a person to the hospital in Newark Friday evening.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of an injured person near the intersection of 14th Avenue and South 10th Street around 6:25 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found the victim stabbed in the chest and back multiple times.
Police say the victim was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation and there are no reports of arrest at this time.
