Belleville Township officials are seeking licensed local contractors to apply for admission into Belleville’s Home Improvement Program, an opportunity for residents to have repairs completed at their homes.
The Township is eager to develop a list of qualified, licensed contractors so the program can be launched for residents in January. The contractors would be connected with projects within single- and two-family homes, as well as condominiums in Belleville.
All work would be completed at owner-occupied homes, including HVAC, roofs, leaders, gutters, exterior siding, windows, doors and insulation. Projects range from $10,000 and $22,000.
To be eligible, contractors must have:
- Three references for general contracting jobs completed in New Jersey within the last three years
- Documentation proving financial stability
- Worker’s compensation insurance coverage and liability insurance of at least $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury or death and $50,000 for property damage
- A Lead Renovators License (Belleville will reimburse eligible contractors for the cost of certification).
Contractors must apply to be placed on the pre-approved list. The program will send out a request for bids to accepted contractors.
