Paterson Man Charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Heroin

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of David Clay of Paterson, on charges of Possession With Intent To Distribute Crack Cocaine and Heroin. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

According to police, on Monday, November 2, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force and officers from the Garfield Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on River Road in Garfield of a 2007 Audi Q7 operated by Clay, who had been identified as a distributor of narcotics.

Police report that a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 100 bricks of Heroin (5,000 total glassines) and 16 grams of Crack Cocaine. The approximate street value of the seized Heroin and Crack Cocaine is $15,000.

According to officials Clay was arrested and charged with one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute Crack Cocaine and one count of Possession With Intent To Distribute Heroin.

He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ, pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court.

Prosecutor Musella states that the charges are merely accusations and that the defendant is presumed innocent and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
