Jersey City residents and teen mentoring participants, Paris Turner and Nicole Lewis were each awarded a $500 prize last week for participating in the Jersey City Health and Human Services Department’s Teen Mentoring Program
The Teen Mentoring Program focuses on literacy and youth engagement for teens all across Jersey City.
While this year’s program has moved to a virtual format with weekly online sessions, they know that the need for social and academic engagement could not be more relevant in this time of social distancing.
The young participants are empowered to express their views on a variety of topics including bullying, suicide, teen pregnancy, future careers and more.
