Passaic County officials announce that on Sunday, October 25, at approximately 9:37 a.m., police officers responded to Pennington Park in the City of Paterson in response to a report of a body found in the Park near the Passaic River.
Police report that upon their arrival, the officers discovered the deceased male victim who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds lying on the riverbank.
The manner and cause of death, as well as the identification of the victim, are still pending the results of an autopsy which will be scheduled to take place later this week.
This investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released when it becomes available.
