Police in Newark's Upper West Ward are on the scene of shots fired in the Vailsburg section at this time.
According to police, a ShotSpotter device detected nearly a dozen rounds of gunfire in the 30’s block of Pine Grove Terrace just before 7:45 a.m.
Units arrived and found shell casings, but there are no reports of injuries at this time.
Expect heavy police activity in the area.
