Police are looking into possible domestic violence as the motive for a shooting that left three individuals injured in Jersey City on Thursday night.
Authorities have not released many details regarding the incident, but according to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 121 Clarke Avenue around 11:10 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found a person suffering a gunshot wound in the head at that location.
Police say the victim was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment.
While police investigated at the crime scene, officials at Bayonne Medical Center informed authorities of two gunshot victims who entered the emergency department suffering bullet wounds.
Police say one of the three victims was a female who was struck by bullets in her chest.
According to authorities, both Bayonne Hospital walk-in victims were transferred to Jersey City Medical Center.
Jersey City Police and the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are handling the investigation.
