Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that based upon an investigation by the Paterson Police Department, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, Mr.Julio Vasquez Larosa, 34, from Paterson was arrested in relation to a shooting investigation that took place September 19, in the area of Elizabeth Street and Getty Avenue in Paterson.
Police say Julio Vasquez Larosa is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree (5 counts); Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree (5 counts).
According to police, at approximately 4:10 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 26-year-old male and a 39-year-old male both Paterson residents arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment of non-fatal gunshot wounds.
Police were then advised that a shooting incident occurred in the area of Elizabeth Street and Getty Avenue in Paterson, New Jersey according to officials.
Upon arrival police located a potential crime scene.
Based on the investigation three additional victims were located and Julio Vasquez Larosa was identified.
An arrest warrant was issued for Julio Vasquez Larosa, who turned himself into the Paterson Police Department on October 19, 2020.
