Police in Paterson are investigating a shooting that injured a person in a section of the city on Tuesday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, officials at St. Joseph's Hospital contacted police when a gunshot victim entered the emergency department suffering gunshot wounds around 4 a.m.
Police arrived at the hospital and were told by the victim that the gunmen fired shots at him on Summer Street between Broadway and Hamilton, according to reports.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening as of 5:30 a.m.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation by the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
No arrests have been made
