The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified of a pedestrian strike that left the victims suffering severe injuries in Newark’s North Ward.
According to police, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a person struck by a car in the vicinity of 351 Summer Avenue.
Upon arrival, police requested EMS to rush to the scene after they found the unconscious victim lying on the ground.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
