Firefighters in Newark battled an early morning fire that tore through a business in the city's East Ward Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters responded to 103 Ferry Street after receiving reports of fire just before 5:10 a.m.
Fast responding Newark's bravest firefighters arrived and found smoke and fire coming from the ground level of a three-story mixed-use building with Ferry Wireless business ignited in flames.
Crews were able to make their way inside the business and began pouring water on the flames that extended to occupied apartments on the second and third floors.
Newark firefighters swiftly beat down fast-moving flames then begin searching the building for trapped and injured occupants.
Several residents were displaced due to the blaze.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by Newark Fire officials.
