A Pleasantville woman was convicted of theft charges on Friday afternoon during the first jury trial to begin in New Jersey since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.
A jury returned a guilty verdict against Tianna D. Williams, 23, on counts of Uttering Falsely Made Documents and Theft by Deception, each in the third degree.
According to court records, on February 15, 2019, Williams passed a fraudulent check at the Uptown Check Cashing in Atlantic City in the amount of $5,879.73. An investigation determined the check that Williams cashed had been forged.
Williams’ sentencing is scheduled for November 5.
