Firefighters are on the scene of a fire that's tearing through a portion of a mixed-use building in a section of Linden at this time.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were dispatched to 2048 East St. Georges Avenue after receiving reports of a fire around 6:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found smoke and flames coming from a second-floor apartment of a half commercial building with the Parkview Tavern on the ground level.
Firefighters were able to get inside the structure and extinguish the seat of the first before checking for trapped and injured occupants.
There were no serious injuries and the blaze was placed under control in under 30 minutes.
It is not clear if the Parkview Tavern sustained substantial damage at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
