Newark Police report the arrest of Patrick R. Roberts, 22, of Irvington, for possession of a stolen, loaded handgun in an incident that occurred in the city on Friday, September 11.
According to police, at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers patrolling the area of 14th Avenue and South 6th Street observed a man with a weapon that had been reported stolen.
Police report that the suspect, Patrick R. Roberts, was immediately arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon (hollow points), certain persons prohibited from weapons possession, receiving stolen property, obstruction of the administration of the law and resisting arrest.
These charges are merely accusations. This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
