Police in Gloucester are investigating a pedestrian strike that caused fatal injuries to a person in the Township Monday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police and EMS responded to reports of a person injured in the 1500 block of North Black Horse Pike around 12:50 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the unidentified male victim suffering a severe head injury after a box truck crashed into them at that location.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured, according to police.
The incident is under investigation.
