Police in Newark advised hospitals in the region to be on the lookout for potential walk-in gunshot victims after a shot-fired incident caused property damage on Thursday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, around 1 a.m, residents in the vicinity of 189 Seymour Avenue called police after hearing gunfire rang out in the neighborhood.
Units arrived at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after they searched the area, no victims were found.
Police say bullets struck two vehicles and shell casings were found nearby. There were no occupants inside the car according to police.
The suspect fled the scene and remain at-large.
