Police in Jersey City are looking into a motive for a shooting that injured a person at a location in the city on Tuesday night.
According to police, at approximately 8:55 p.m., gunfire rang out in the vicinity of Franklin Street and Sherman Avenue.
Police said when officers arrived at the scene, they found an unidentified person suffering a gunshot wound. Witnesses told police that a white vehicle occupied by several black males pulled up in the area and began to fire shots in the direction of the victims before speeding away from the scene.
Officers on patrol in neighboring Hoboken located the suspected car and destined all the occupants inside. Police recovered a handgun inside the vehicle according to reports.
The condition of the victim has not been confirmed by police at this time.
