Newark Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Osborne Terrace at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to police, when units arrived at the scene, they found shell casings but after a search of the area, officers found no victims.
Officials at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center then notified police of a male who entered the emergency room suffering a bullet wound in the leg
Officials report that the victim has been listed in stable condition
Police said the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
