State Troopers responded to I-195 east yesterday, on reports of a fatal crash on near milepost 5 and exit 5B in Hamilton Township in Mercer County.
Based on a preliminary investigation, around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling eastbound on I-195.
Police report that the Hyundai ran off the road to the right and collided with a road sign and several trees.
As a result the driver Denise Garcia, 28, of Hamilton, suffered serious injuries and passenger Lauren Lewis, 33, of Trenton suffered fatal injuries.
No further information is available at this time.
The crash is currently under investigation.
