The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office will handle the investigation onto a shooting that injured a person in Paterson Sunday morning.
According to police, gunmen fired multiple rounds in the vicinity of Rosa Parks Boulevard and Keen Street around 3:10 a.m.
Police officials say officers arrived after a ShotSpotter activation alerted them of gunfire at that location.
Units searched the area and found several shell casings, but after canvassing the scene, no victims were located.
According to police at approximately 3:20 a.m., officials at St. Joseph's Hospital alerted them that a male gunshot victim entered the emergency room seeking treatment.
The condition of the victim has only been reported as serious but stable at this time.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting at this time.
