One person was rushed to University Hospital suffering severe injuries after a shot-fired incident that occurred on Sunday night in East Orange.
According to a preliminary investigation, shortly before 11:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 59 Ampere to investigate reports of a person shot at that location.
Upon arrival, police say they found the unidentified person bleeding heavily after an armed suspect occupying the passenger seat of a vehicle fired shots at the victim.
Police believe that the fleeing car is a light-colored 4-door vehicle occupied by three suspects. Residents told RLS Media they heard several shots in the neighborhood before police and EMS sirens.
The condition of the victim was only reported as serious at this time.
Officials said Sunday evening’s shooting marks the third person injured by gunfire in East Orange in less than 24-hours.
