According to NJ State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:06 pm on U.S Highway 46 in Liberty Township, Warren County.
Police say preliminary information indicates that a Dodge Ram pickup was traveling westbound on US-46, and a GMC Sierra towing a Coachmen Camper was traveling eastbound on the highway.
According to police, in the area of milepost 13.6, the Dodge crossed over into the eastbound lanes and struck the GMC head-on causing fatal injuries to the driver of the Dodge.
Police say the front seat passenger of the Dodge, the driver of the GMC, the front passenger of the GMC, and the left rear passenger of the GMC all sustained severe injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
According to State Police, the right rear passenger of the GMC sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police closed US-46 for approximately 5 hours.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
