New Jersey State Police K-9, Dutch, assisted troopers on a car stop, which resulted in the arrest of Mr. Jamine Thomas, 41, of Belleville, and the seizure of $2,000 worth of drugs and $5,000 cash.
Police say on Friday, July 21, at 10:21 a.m., Trooper Andrew Mccoy stopped Thomas for a traffic violation southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike at milepost 101.8 in Elizabeth City, Union County.
During the investigation, Tpr. Mccoy requested assistance from the State Police K-9 unit.
Trooper I Emilio Gomez and his K-9 Dutch responded to assist during the investigation, which led to the seizure of more than $2,000 dollars in drugs, drug paraphernalia and more than $5,000 cash.
As a result, Thomas was arrested without incident.
According to State Police Jamine Thomas was charged with possession of a heroin, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to distribute CDS, and tampering with evidence. He was lodged at the Union County Jail pending a detention hearing.
Charges are mere accusations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
