This breaking information brings our field crews to a house fire in a section of East Orange.
According to preliminary information from the scene, just before 6 a.m., firefighters were notified of a fire that was burning at a home located at 28 Oak Street.
Fast responding East Orange firefighters arrived to find some flames and smoke coming from the two-story siding-framed house according to reports.
The fire originated in a bedroom then quickly spread to the cockloft officials said.
Crews were able to get the fire under control in under a half-hour with a search of the structure resulting in negative trapped o injured occupants.
Approximately six residents received assistance from the American Red Cross.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
