Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced Saturday that a driver has been charged in the motorcycle fatality in which a passenger was killed in Old Bridge on July 16.
According to a statement released by Prosecutor Ciccone, the operator of the motorcycle, Mr. Jack Piatek, 27, of Sayreville, was arrested today and charged with vehicular homicide in the second degree caused by driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Officials said Piatek was also issued several motor vehicle summonses, including driving while intoxicated.
According to officials, the deceased passenger was identified as Ms. Jessica Vinsko, 36, of South Amboy.
Officials said during the investigation, it was determined that at approximately 11:50 p.m., Piatek was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Route 35 North in the vicinity of Industrial Drive, when he lost control causing the two occupants to be ejected.
Officials said Piatek was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital to be treated for his injuries and Vinsko was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Piatek is currently being held in the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, pending a Detention Hearing.
The investigation is active and is continuing.
