Police are currently on the scene of a shooting with a child injured at a location in Jersey City.
According to preliminary information from the scene, gunfire rang out in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Oak Street at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Officers raced to the scene and found a girl -around the age of 12- suffering a non-life-threatening bullet wound in the leg.
According to reports, officers canvassing the area found the suspects in a vehicle and then attempted to pull the driver over. Police say this led to a high-speed pursuit.
Police say four suspects were captured at the US-1&9 ramp to the NJ Turnpike in Newark and a weapon was recovered.
A pedestrian was reportedly struck by the fleeing suspects’ car and their condition could not immediately be confirmed.
Police say the suspects fired about three rounds before speeding off from the scene.
