Newark Police and EMS are on the scene of a shooting with two victims down at this time in the city's upper West Ward.
According to preliminary reports from the scene, shooters fired more than a dozen rounds in the 100 block of Brookdale Avenue at approximately 2:35 p.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims suffering bullet wounds at that location.
Police say they officers canvassing the scene collected .223 rounds shell casings on the ground. There is property damage being reported with several cars struck by bullets.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a white Jeep westbound on Abinger then South on Sunset Avenue.
The condition of the victims has not been confirmed at this time. Please avoid the area for the police investigation.
