NJ State Police are investigating a car crash that occurred on the Garden State Parkway in Clark on Monday.
In a statement released by NJ State Police, at approximately 8:14 p.m., the driver, Nicolle May of Toms River, drove off the right side of the road near mile marker 135.8.
Police said May struck several signs before crashing into a concrete overpass.
According to state police officials, she was airlifted to University Hospital in Newark with severe injures.
The crash caused heavy traffic delays for about an hour as police investigated the collision.
No further information was released about the crash or the status of the driver.
