Several Ocean County Sheriff's officers responded to the scene of shots fired that rang out at a location in Toms River.
According to police, units responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 225 Ardmore Avenue shortly before 9 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after a search of the area, no victims were found.
Police say officers found as many as three shell casings during their search.
The incident remains under investigation.
