There is an active investigation underway into a shooting that injured a male in Jersey City overnight.
According to police, armed suspects pulled up in a vehicle and began to fire multiple rounds in the vicinity of Wegman Parkway and Bergan Avenue around 12:10 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene found vehicles struck by bullets and while searching the area, officers located a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his chest at that location.
The unidentified man was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and remained in stable condition.
Police taped off several blocks as officers collected shell casings and other evidence that spanned several neighborhoods.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
