Passaic County officials announced that at approximately 2:28 p.m. on Tuesday, police and fire officials responded to a second-alarm fire at a two-family residence located at 276 17th Avenue in the City of Paterson.
Officials say five (5) residents were displaced as a result of the fire, and one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene and is pending identification.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, however, this investigation remains active and ongoing.
