Passaic County authorities are investigating a shooting that sent several people to the hospital in Paterson Saturday.
According to police, early morning gunfire rang out in the vicinity of East 23rd Street and 10th Avenue at approximately 1:20 a.m.
When police officers arrived at the scene, they taped off the area after finding multiple shell casings and two confirmed gunshot victims.
Police say EMS treated a third victim for injuries, but they have not confirmed if the injuries were from gunfire at this time.
According to police, all of the victims were transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment.
The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office will lead the active and ongoing investigation.
No fatalities have been immediately reported.
