Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that on Wednesday, at approximately 5:38 p.m., police officers responded to the area outside 73 Hospital Plaza in the City of Paterson in response to a report of shots fired.
Police say upon their arrival, the officers discovered Brian Olivio, 20, and David Torres, 20, both from Paterson, suffering apparent gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where Mr. Olivio succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased.
Mr. Torres is in stable condition, police said.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
