Newark---Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Orange Public Safety Director Todd R. Warren announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Jerrel Tucker, 23, of Orange.
According to police May 16, Tucker was shot dead in a parking lot in the 500 block of Liberty Street.
Essex County officials said Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:12 pm.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
The Prosecutor’s Office is seeking assistance from the public.
