Police officials in Paterson are looking into the cause of a crash that injured a police officer and a civilian Tuesday morning.
According to police, the crash happened at approximately 9:05 a.m. near the vicinity of 176 East 7th Street.
Police say one of the city's police cars collided with a civilian vehicle causing the cruiser to lose control and strike a gate.
The result of the crash pinned the officer inside the vehicle, according to police.
Paterson emergency responders extricated the officer and the civilian from their vehicles then transported them to St. Joseph's Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
