Wayne Hospital Walk-in Gunshot Victim Shot in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 1:25 a.m. members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of East 23rd Street in Paterson on a report of shots fired. Upon arrival responding officers discovered evidence of a crime scene, but no victim was located.

Police say a short time later members of the Paterson Police Department were advised that a 34-year-old male Paterson resident had arrived at Saint Joseph’s Health Wayne Medical Center in Wayne (Wayne General) seeking treatment for a non-fatal gunshot wound.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
