Elizabeth notified The Union County Prosecutor's Office to assist in an incident where a woman suffered 'grave' injuries after she was struck by truck in a section of Elizabeth on Saturday evening.
City officials would only say that the situation is under investigation and no information was available as of 9 p.m., but according to witnesses, the incident happened at approximately 7:50 p.m. at the intersection of East Grand Street and Route 1&9.
Witnesses said a male and female were inside of a Penske rental truck when they saw the victim exit from the vehicle then was run over shortly after.
