Police Search for Suspect Wanted for Breaking into Newark Business

Police in Newark are reporting that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Mr.!James Spotswood, also known as Ali, 54, on a charge of robbery in connection with an incident that occurred the weekend of Friday, April 24th.

According to a statement released by police, between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on Friday and 4:45 a.m., Monday, April 27th, the Honig Chemical building, located at 414 Wilson Avenue, was burglarized.

Police say responding officers observed that locks to a door at the rear of the building were damaged.

Detectives investigating this incident developed sufficient evidence to identify James Spotswood as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest according to police.

While police are actively searching for Spotswood, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

He is described as 5’8” tall weighs 160 lbs. and has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

Police say he has a scar on his left eye.
