Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who committed an armed carjacking at a location in the city early Monday morning.
According to officials, police were called to the 100 block of South 10th Street to investigate reported of a carjacking in progress just before 3 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and requested EMS for a male victim who suffered non-life threatening injuries after he said a suspect approached with a gun and announced a carjacking.
Police say during the incident, the suspect began to beat the victim before making off with his Chevy Malibu.
The suspect remains at-large.
