Authorities in Essex County are investigating a deadly stabbing that occurred in a section of Newark early Wednesday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, at approximately 2:40 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 70’s block of North 6th Street to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, they found a severely injured person suffering a stab wound at that location.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police are looking into a possible domestic incident as the motive.
There were no official reports of arrests.
