Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers announced today that the Irvington Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a homicide.
Authorities said on Nov. 28 at approximately 9:34 p.m. Quinzel Bellamy, 32, of Newark sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the vicinity of 16th Avenue and 20th Street in Irvington. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where he was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
At this time no arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
