The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office recognizes 2020 National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, especially given these unprecedented challenges our community is facing.
The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office will have a tree lit up outside of the Administration & Records Building from April 19 through April 25, 2020 in honor of all of the victims of crime in Morris County. Serving as a small beacon of hope during these difficult times, a wreath adorned with a “2020 in Recognition” ribbon was placed next to the tree.
Observed annually, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is about raising awareness of victims' rights and services, highlighting programs, celebrating progress achieved, and honoring victims and the professionals and agencies who serve them.
This year, the theme is “Seek Justice, Ensure Victims’ Rights, Inspire Hope.” The theme commemorates the advocacy of individuals and groups that inspires victims and their families to have hope, justice and healing.

Resources are also available for Morris County victims of domestic violence.
During the COVID-19 court closures, applications for a temporary restraining order may be filed with the local police department where (1) the victim resides or is sheltered, (2) where the defendant resides, (3) or where the incident occurred.
