Authorities have confirmed at least two fatalities from a motorcycle collision that happened on a NJ highway in Middlesex County this afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, at approximately 1:35 p.m. police were called to the southbound lanes of the NJ Turnpike near exit 10 in Edison to investigate reports of a crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, police observed one victim entangled in the guardrail and a second severely injured person lying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive.
Police say it appeared that the pair was ejected from a motorcycle that was traveling in a group on the highway.
Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there was a vehicle towed from the scene that they are investigating its involvement in the collision.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is active and ongoing.
