There were no injuries reported in a fire that destroyed a vacant building in Newark Saturday night.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were dispatched to the area of South 7th Street and 14th Avenue to investigate a structure fire at approximately 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found heavy flames and thick smoke engulfing the three-story building at that location.
Crews were able to make their way inside the building where they found the seat of the fire, but after a search of the house, there were no trapped or injured occupants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
