New Transit Officials have announced the passing of an upper-level management employee.
According to a statement released by NJ Transit, Mr. Raymond P. Kenny, Transit's the company's Senior VP & GM of Rail Operations, died from coronavirus-related complications, NJ Transit announced Saturday.
New Jersey Transit CEO Kevin Corbett said Ray's reputation and experience in the industry are unparalleled.
"The leadership and incredible wealth of railroad knowledge Ray brought with him has truly made a positive impact on our organization. On behalf of everyone at NJ Transit, our thoughts and prayers are with Ray's family and friends at this difficult time."
Officials say Ray led NJ TRANSIT Rail Operations beginning in January 2019.
CEO Kevin Corbett announced last week that he was diagnosed with COVID-19 and has spent the last two weeks working from home.
NJ has over 4000 people who has died from the Coronavirus since the outbreak.
