A NJ Congressman has confirmed that 68 residents of a nursing home in Andover Township he died and at least 40 staff members have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
Congressman Josh Gottheimer Said Andover Rehabilitation in Sussex County, has lost 68 lives and 76 residents have tested positive for coronavirus.
Out of the 40 staff members who tested positive, two nurses have died, Congressman Josh Gottheimer said.
"When they called Saturday they were desperate for body bags," Gottheimer said.
"Overall, we need to figure out what went on here. Did they take all the steps necessary upfront for PPE, did they segregate those who are positive."
Congressman Josh Gottheimer announced that there would be "a very deep" investigation.
Gottheimer said the nursing home is the largest in the state with over 500 beds and the focus right is saving lives.
