There were no injuries reported in a shots-fired incident that occurred in a neighborhood in Newark Thursday afternoon.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the 20 block of Irvine Turner Boulevard at approximately 3:30 p.m., sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, officers found several shell casings, but no victims are they searched the area.
A bullet smashed through the window of an apartment occupied by a mother and her children at 220 Irvine Turner Boulevard, but police no one inside was injured.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests reported.
